Belonging to more than one HOA
Pick an HOA after you sign in, switch between HOAs from the dashboard or member portal, and what stays separate in each.
Belonging to more than one HOA
One Fourplex login can belong to more than one HOA. For example, you might be on the board of Maple Court and own a unit in Pine Ridge. This article explains how to pick and switch HOAs. If you belong to only one HOA, nothing here changes how Fourplex works for you.
Choosing an HOA when you sign in
- Sign in with your email code as usual.
- Fourplex shows the HOAs you belong to, each with your role (Board, Owner or Member).
- Choose one. If you're on that HOA's board, the board dashboard opens. If you own or rent a unit there, the member portal opens on your unit.
Fourplex remembers your choice in this browser, so you won't be asked again each time you open a page.
Switching HOAs on the board dashboard
- Click your HOA's name in the top-left corner of the sidebar.
- The list shows every HOA you belong to, with the current one marked.
- Choose another HOA. The dashboard reloads with that HOA's members, units, dues and everything else.
HOAs where you're not on the board are greyed out. Pointing at one (or moving to it with the keyboard) shows "You are not a board member in this HOA." Choose Open member portal next to it to see your unit there.
Switching HOAs in the member portal
The unit switcher at the top of the member portal lists every unit you hold. When your units are in different HOAs, they're grouped under each HOA's name. Choose a unit to open the portal for it. That HOA becomes your current HOA on the board side too.
If you open the member portal while your current HOA is one where you're on the board but don't have a unit (for example, from Member portal in the dashboard menu), the portal opens on one of your units in another HOA and makes that HOA your current HOA. Other open tabs show the reload banner, the same as when you switch yourself.
Common questions
Is my profile shared between HOAs?
No. Your name, phone number and contact preferences are kept separately for each HOA. Changing your phone number in Pine Ridge doesn't change it in Maple Court.
I have Fourplex open in several tabs. What happens when I switch?
All tabs in the same browser use the same HOA. When you switch in one tab, the others show a banner asking you to reload. If you try to save something in a tab that hasn't reloaded yet, Fourplex stops the save and asks you to reload first, so nothing is saved to the wrong HOA.
Which HOA opens when I click a link in an email?
Links in Fourplex emails open the HOA the email is about, even if you were working in a different HOA. If the email is about an HOA you don't belong to, the link doesn't switch anything.
I accepted an invite from another HOA. Where do I go now?
After you accept, Fourplex opens the HOA you just joined. Your other HOAs are still in the list when you sign in and in the switcher.
Can I add or create an HOA from the switcher?
No. You join another HOA by accepting an invite from its board. To start a new HOA, see Creating your HOA.
