New: a calmer shared inbox
Threaded owner messages, blocked-sender controls, and a quieter default — so the board only hears about what needs a decision.
If you have ever been on a board where every message from every owner landed in a group thread with 4 board members all replying — or worse, all staying silent hoping someone else would handle it — this update is for you.
We redesigned the shared inbox to fix the two problems boards told us were most frustrating: too much noise, and conversations that were hard to follow.
What changed
Threaded conversations. Owner messages now group into threads instead of a flat list. When a resident follows up on something they sent last week, it arrives as a reply to the original message rather than a new item. You see the full context in one place.
Quieter notifications by default. The new default is calmer: the board hears about unread owner messages, not every reply in an active thread. Once a conversation is moving, it stops pinging everyone who is already following along. You can tune how much the inbox notifies your board in inbox settings.
Blocked-sender controls. If a particular address is sending spam or abuse, you can block it directly from inbox settings so it stops reaching the board entirely — no more deleting the same junk every week.
What you need to do
Nothing, if you are an existing Fourplex user. Existing messages migrated to the new threaded format automatically. You may want to spend 10 minutes in inbox settings tuning your notification preferences and blocking any addresses that have been sending junk.
A practical tip: review your inbox notification settings before your next board meeting — dial them to the quietest level that still surfaces real owner questions, so the board stops tuning the inbox out entirely.
